Paris Saint Germain are yet to complete the payment of Brazilian
superstar Neymar’s transfer fee, reports have said. Owing to this, the
French giants have been unable to field the former Barcelona star. The
club will get the player’s International Transfer Certificate after they
have completed the payment of 222 million euros to the Catalans.
Neymar was forced to sit out PSG’s first Ligue 1 match of the season against Amiens last week due to the lack of official clearance for his transfer.
The French club must first present an International Transfer Certificate to FIFA confirming the move before Neymar is eligible to play, a usually routine piece of paperwork that has caused the player’s debut to be delayed.
The Spanish Football Association, RFEF, has said that the certificate is being processed and will be sent to France once it is ready.
PSG may have to play Guingamp in Ligue 1 this weekend without their world record signing. They have until Thursday evening to register the player’s certificate.
