Appeal Court Says Dasuki Must Testify In Metuh’s Trial

A three-man appeal court panel has asked the Department of State Services, DSS, to bring Sambo Dasuki, former national security adviser (NSA), to testify in the trial of Olisa Metuh, a former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Justice Peter Ige, leading two other justices, delivered the ruling.
The panel nullified Abang’s ruling while directing him to fix the dates for Dasuki’s appearance.
Metuh is being accused of receiving N400 million from Dasuki. The government believes the money was part of the said $2.1 billion earmarked to buy arms in combating Boko Haram insurgency. In his bid to prove his innocence, Metuh applied to list Dasuki as a witness, but high court judge, Okon Abang, didn’t approve of it.
The panel said the trial judge was wrong to regard Dasuki as a “non-compellable” witness in the case.
