Govt. To Compensate Robbed Adamawa Queens

The Adamawa Government has said it will compensate players and officials of Adamawa Queens, a football club, who were robbed last month. The team had been attacked by the robbers near Katsina Ala on June 27, 2017 while they were travelling from Yola to Benin for a match. Valuables worth millions of naira were lost in the attack.

An official of the sports ministry said the ministry had taken stock of the lost valuables and was working to compensate the victims. The compensation was also confirmed Emmanuel Zira, chairman of the side.

“The players who were robbed will be compensated and the state government has given us that assurance.

“I want the ministry to stop the late release of money to our players anytime they are to travel out of the state for a match.

“It is worrisome that our players always arrive at match venues late. This attitude must change for our players to do well,” he told the News Agency of Nigeria.
