Popular Nigerian gaming brand, Jacaranda, has opened its first Casino in Lagos after nine years of first registering its presence in Nigeria.

With Casinos already in Abuja, Portharcourt and Owerri, the Jacaranda Casino is set to thrill fun-loving Lagosians with its newly opened $5m facility in Lagos.
Located in Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, the Casino presently employs 150 direct staff asides consultants and other supply chains staff.

Speaking recently with The Paradigm in Lagos, Group Managing Director, Mr. John Storey said Jacaranda Casino is the best Casino in Nigeria. He believes Nigeria has got a great future, that is why he has invested a lot in it.
In fact, if things go as planned, John Storey has plans to make his Casino a publicly traded company.
“Jacaranda Casino is about entertainment, gambling is secondary,” Storey, a South African told The Paradigm.
“When people think of Jacaranda, we want entertainment to register with them, not gambling”.
“For people to catch fun; they usually drive to the Lagos Island, there is no other casino on the Mainland. But with the arrival of Jacaranda in Lagos, things have changed for the better”
Also speaking in the same vein, his partner, Mr. Yahaya Maikori said Jacaranda Casino is a responsible organization. “Though the challenges of running businesses like this in Nigeria are quite enormous, we still perform our civic duties”.
“We pay our taxes, we are accountable to the EFCC, as regards the money laundering act, we are licensed and we are fair as regards payouts.”
Speaking on the challenges involved in setting up the Jacaranda Casino, Maikori said it took two years to scout and put up the facility.
Yahaya Maikori who happens to be the president of Nigerian Gaming Organisation, stated that one of Jacaranda’s goal is to develop poker in Nigeria.
“Poker is a very big game overseas. We would develop this game in Nigeria by organizing and hosting international competitions in conjunction with our sponsors.”
Earlier, Jacaranda’s floor manager Tiaan Botha had conducted The Paradigm round the facility.
There were two American Roller Tables, two Black Jack tables, and the Roller Slot machine which contains twenty nine games. Other slot machines deployed at the facilities are Wild Tepee, Let’s Go, Fish’N, Queen of the Nile, Buffalo, Fortune kins, Wild Waratah, Wild Panda, Fan Daner and several others.
Since the owner of Sheraton Hotel, Mr. Olorogun Felix Ibru is snooker enthusiast; he was honoured by deploying a snooker pool inside the Casino for his billiard club.
